Man, 58, dies in motorbike crash in South Lanarkshire

A man has died in a motorbike crash in South Lanarkshire.

The accident happened on Sunday 22nd September 2024, at around 12:20pm on the A702, near Elvanfoot.

Emergency services raced to the area, but the 58-year-old rider of the orange Triumph bike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed and reopened around 10pm.

Police officers are asking for anyone who might have information to get in touch.

Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1451 of 22 September, 2024.
