Man critical in hospital after attack in Dennistoun

It's claimed a machete was used to the victim's severe injury and permanent disfigurement

A man has appeared in court accused of attempted murder.

27-year-old Jordan Logan allegedly assaulted Christopher Foy, 22, in Glasgow's Dennistoun on May 30, 2023.

Court papers state that Logan acted with others unknown, to repeatedly strike Mr Foy on the head and body with a machete and a baseball bat.

This is alleged to be to Mr Foy's severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.

The incident is said to have taken place in Cardross Street around 8pm.

Mr Foy is reportedly in a critical condition having been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Logan was in the dock today at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He faces a further charge of possession of a machete in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.

Logan made no plea and was represented by lawyer Neal McShane.

He was remanded in custody pending further examination by Sheriff Daniel Kelly.

Logan, of the city's Garthamlock, will appear at court again within the next eight days.
