Man convicted in connection with Paisley fire arm offences
37-year-old Steven McGarry pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow today
A man has been convicted of firearms offences after a warrant was executed at a property in Paisley.
Steven McGarry, 37, pled guilty to the offences at the High Court in Glasgow today (Friday, 16 August, 2024).
In January, 2024, a warrant was executed at a property in Glenapp Avenue, Paisley where a firearm and ammunition were recovered.
McGarry was arrested and charged in connection.
Detective Inspector David Bell said: "This was a significant recovery and underlines our commitment to tackle violence across Scotland.
"Disrupting the activities of criminals like McGarry and making the country an extremely hostile environment for them to operate is one of Police Scotland’s top priorities.
“There is no place for criminality in our society and, working in partnership with law enforcement agencies and the members of the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce, we will continue our fight against those involved in these types of offences to keep our communities safe.
