Man charged following sex crime in Hamilton
It happened near Palace Grounds Road on Tuesday evening
A man has been arrested and charged following a report of a sexual crime in Hamilton.
The incident happened around 7pm on Tuesday, 29 August 2023, in the Palace Grounds Road area.
The 57-year-old is due to appear at the town’s Sheriff Court today.
In a separate case, enquiries are ongoing into a report of a woman being sexually assaulted by a second man near to Palace Grounds Road on Monday, 28 August 2023.
It happened around 5.35pm and the man is described as black, aged between 20 and 30 and around 5ft 5.
He was last seen wearing a brown/mustard coat and a backpack, heading in the direction of the path towards Strathclyde Park.
Sergeant Billy Sloan of Hamilton Police Office said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the man from the incident on Monday, 28 August.
“I would urge anyone who recognises his description or who has any information to contact police.”
