Man, 42, hospitalised after 'serious assault' in Greenock pub

It happened on Ann Street at 11.30pm on Saturday

A man has been seriously assaulted at a pub in Greenock on Saturday night.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on August 3rd 2024, when a 42-year-old man was attacked within the bar on Ann Street.

The injured man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and was released after treatment.

The male suspect is described as being of Asian appearance, with a slim build and dark-coloured hair.

Detectives are now appealing for information following the attack.

Detective Constable Rebecca Cox said: “Our inquiries are ongoing as we establish the details of this incident and trace the man responsible.

"We are continuing to study CCTV footage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with personal footage that may assist us to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 0089 of 4 August.
