Man arrested after car hits into parked vehicles in Glasgow

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with road traffic offences after a police incident that led to a huge section of Maryhill and Gallowgate being locked down last night.

Officers were called out to Maryhill Road to reports of a car hitting other parked vehicles at 11.15pm.

Several damaged cars remain taped off on Maryhill Road this afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15pm on Monday, 29 July, we were made aware of a car crashing into parked vehicles on Maryhill Road in Glasgow.

“The driver, a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 30 July, 2024.”
