Residents in Coatbridge were asked to keep their doors and windows shut when a fire ripped through a derelict school.
Photos show the roof of the former Gartsherrie Primary collapsing during the incident on Sunday night.
Fire crews were called to Gartsherrie Road shortly before 8pm as the blaze took hold.
There have been no reports of injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.45pm ton Sunday, 8 June to reports of a fire in a derelict building on Gartsherrie Road, Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and a high reach appliance to the scene.
“There are no reported casualties at this time.
“Crews remain in attendance.”
