A Lanarkshire man is to stand trial charged with murdering a man in his own home.

Dylan Shaw, 30, is accused of fatally attacking Alexander Allan at the property in Ivanhoe, East Kilbride in Lanarkshire on February 7 2023.

Prosecutors claim the 43 year-old was repeatedly punched and struck on the body with a knife.

Shaw is separately accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice which includes a claim he threatened to stab a man if he told police he was responsible for the alleged killing.

Lawyers for Shaw pleaded not guilty on his behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Lord Beckett set a trial which is due to begin in August 2024.
