Published 27th Aug 2024

John Beaton has been appointed as the referee for Sunday's clash between Celtic and Rangers.

He'll take charge of the first Old Firm clash of the season at Celtic Park.

Daniel McFarland and Jonathan Bell will be his assistants for the match.

Andrew Dallas will be the VAR in charge of proceedings at Clydesdale House with Graeme Stewart as the assistant VAR.

Brendan Rodgers' side currently sit two points ahead of their rivals after picking up three wins from three in the Premiership.

Philippe Clement's side started off their campaign with a draw against Hearts but put in their most impressive display of the campaign against Ross County on Saturday.

Rabbi Matondo and Cyriel Dessers both bagged braces in a 6-0 win.

Both teams will be hoping to strengthen their squads before the clash with the transfer deadline falling on Friday night.
