Campaigners are staging in the latest in a series of protests attempting to blockade a Glasgow defence site in a protest about the conflict in Gaza.

Early this morning they gathered outside the Thales factory in Govan, calling for them to drop their contract with Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems.

They held up banners that read "Stop Arming Israel" and "This Factory Arms Genocide".

The protesters describe themselves as not anti-worker. They say that they are responding to a call from Palestinian workers and trade unionists to disrupt the flow of arms to Israel and call on Thales to send their workers home on full pay

There have been previous actions outside the Thales facility as well as a number of efforts to blockade the nearby BAE Systems shipyard in Govan since Israel began it's military retaliation for the attack by Hamas on 7th October 2023.
