Glasgow streets closed because of dangerous building
Engineers have been called out to check the structure
A number of roads in Glasgow city centre have been closed on engineers' advice because of safety fears about a "dangerous building".
Queen Street was closed off at 7.50am on Friday morning.
Pictures show debris lying in the screen which appears to have fallen from the building, and a 'cherry picker' crane was examining a parapet on the roof.
The incident is also affecting traffic using parts of Argyle Street, Union Street, Ingram Street, Mitchell Street and Mitchell Lane.
A spokesperson for the city's Traffcom service said: "Due to a Dangerous Building on Queen Street the following closures are required.
"Argyle Street will be closed from Union Street to Queen Street.
"Queen Street will be closed from Argyle Street to Ingram Street.
"Mitchell Street will be closed from Mitchell Lane to Argyle Street.
"Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route."
Traffcom said further updates will be issued in due course.
Police Scotland and Glasgow City Council were contacted for comment.
