Former Rangers and Scotland player Ronnie MacKinnon dies age 83

Former Rangers and Scotland player Ronnie MacKinnon has died at the age of 83.

The centre-half spent most of his club career at Ibrox - winning nine domestic medals.

He also won 28 caps for his country.

In a statement, Rangers FC said everyone associated with the club is saddened to hear of his passing.

The statement continues:

'The club extends our sympathy to Elizabeth, his widow, and all his family.'

The family request that their privacy is respected at this sad time and the club will pay further tribute to Mr MacKinnon in due course.
