Filming for new Glen Powell film taking place in Glasgow City Centre

Fans of the Twisters star could be in with a chance to spot him as filming continues

Fans of Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters could be in with a chance of spotting Hollywood star Glen Powell in Glasgow this weekend, as filming for the reboot of Running Man takes over parts of the city centre.

Production crews have been spotted in Union Place off Gordon Street, with filming rumoured to be heading to the Bothwell Street area later this weekend.

The Running Man is set to be directed by English filmmaker Edgar Wright, known for his work on Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and Baby Driver.

He brings with him his Scott Pilgram vs The World partner Michael Bacall as script writer, while Mission Impossible 8 actress Katy O’Brien is set to star opposite Powell, while Marvel star Josh Brolin plays the villain.

Union Street between Gordon Street and Argyle Street will be restricted on Saturday November 16, with a number of other road closures in place until November 24.

  • Gallowgate between Kent Street and Gibson Street
  • Prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading from 15:00hrs on the 17 November 2024 until 19:00hrs on the 20 November 2024
  • Moncur Street between Kent Street and Gibson Street, north side only
  • Gibson Street between Moncur Street and Gallowgate, west side only
  • Prohibition of vehicle movements by stop and go traffic management (2 mins maximum wait) from 09:30hrs to 11:00hrs on the 18 November 2024/from 18:30hrs to 19:30hrs on the 18 November 2024
