Fire crews are tackling a blaze at the derelict former hotel on the outskirts of Dumbarton.
It broke out at the Dumbuck House Hotel around 01.20am on Thursday.
The A814 Glasgow Road is closed at the scene.
Scottish Fire and Rescue told Greatest Hits Radio News five appliances were involved in the response, and no injuries have been reported.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
"We were alerted at 1.22am on Thursday, 27 June to reports of a fire within a derelict building in Dumbarton.
"Operations Control mobilised seven fire appliances to the town's Glasgow Road, where firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
"Three appliances currently remain on scene with crews working to make the area safe.
"There are no casualties."
Conversion plans
The building was built as Dumbuck House, in the early 19th century as a family mansion, and the hotel was closed down during the Covid pandemic.
In October 2023 Historic Environment Scotland removed the category B listing , which had been in place since 1971, following an application from its owners who had lodged plans to partially demolish it and develop it into flats and houses at the site.
