Davide Ancelotti in contention as Rangers manager timeline revealed

Published 13th May 2025

Davide Ancelotti has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next Rangers manager, according to reports in Spain.

The Real Madrid assistant is set to leave his role this summer and take the step into management.

Ancelotti has worked under his father, Carlo, at Bayern Munich, Napoli and Bayern Munich as well as the Spanish giants.

Carlo Ancelotti will leave his post at Real Madrid in the coming weeks to take over the Brazil national team.

It is reported Davide will join him for his first two matches in charge before his potential move to Ibrox next month.

That fits Rangers' managerial timeframe with it being understood the club are planning to appoint their new boss in the next four weeks.

It is also understood the club are still looking at a number of candidates.

A new manager will be one of several changes this summer with the takeover by 49ers Enterprises edging closer and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell starting soon.
