A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the M8.

Emergency crews were called to junction 13 shortly after nine o’clock on Wednesday morning following an accident involving two cars and a motorbike.

The motorway has been closed westbound at the Provan Interchange as a result.

Glasgow motorists are being urged to avoid the area as long delays are expected.

A police spokesman said: “The M8 westbound is closed at junction 13 following a crash involving two cars and a motorbike.

Emergency services were called around 9.15am on Wednesday, 6 August, 2025, and the rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”

Traffic Scotland say drivers are being diverted off at junction 12 and re-joining the motorway at junction 14.
