Cleansing staff across Glasgow are stepping up their fight to save a bin depot in the West End of the city from closing.

They're protesting outside the facility on Kelvinhaugh Street at lunchtime to warn some streets could be completely neglected if they're moved elsewhere.

Connor has worked for the council collecting rubbish for over a decade.

He told Greatest Hits Radio: "It is really sad that we are in this situation, the depot has just been modernised too and it is a much better facility than it used to be.

"If we are moved somewhere else than it could mean certain streets are neglected because there would no longer be a presence in certain parts of the city."

There are also concerns any plans to move elsewhere could result in longer commutes.

Connor added: "I live in Blantyre, I don't drive and get the train to work every morning.

"Right now it costs me £5 a day but I worry that if we are moved to Maryhill, that will double."

We have approached Glasgow City Council for a response.
