Child dies after taking unwell at South Lanarkshire trampoline park

A child has died after becoming unwell at a trampoline park in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to Flip Out in Southcroft Road, Rutherglen, just before 11am on Sunday 18 August.

The child was taken by ambulance to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children, where they were pronounced dead.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained, but there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"The Health and Safety Executive has also been notified."

In a statement released to social media, Flip Out said: “Flip Out Glasgow is closed today.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

“If you have pre-booked to visit today, please email glasgow@flipout.co.uk with your booking details and we will refund your booking or move your booking to another day.

“Please keep an eye on our social media where we post updates on when we will be reopening.”
