Celtic striker Oh makes permanent move to Genk

Celtic striker Hyeon-gyu Oh has left the club to join Belgian side Genk.

The South Korean has made the move for a reported fee of £4.5million.

Oh joined the Parkhead side in January of 2023 and went on to score 12 times in 47 appearances.

He initially started brightly under Ange Postecoglou but fell out of favour under Brendan Rodgers last season - especially after the arrival of Adam Idah.

A Genk club statement read: "KRC Genk has strengthened itself with a fourth summer transfer.

"South Korean Hyeon-gyu Oh signs a contract for 4 seasons in the Cegeka Arena.

"The 23-year-old Oh, who has been at the top of the Genk scouting cell's wish list for some time, is making the switch from Scottish national champion Celtic FC.

"He managed to score 6 times there last season."

Celtic are yet to secure any incomings so far this summer but Kasper Schmeichel is set to join in the coming days.

The veteran Denmark goalkeeper is Brendan Rodgers' choice to replace Joe Hart who retired at the end of the season.
