Celtic sign winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha for £5m from Royal Antwerp
Celtic have completed the signing of winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha from Royal Antwerp.
Balikwisha has penned a five-year deal with the Scottish champions, following his £5m move.
He is Brendan Rodgers' eighth signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old has spent his whole career in the Belgian top flight, coming through at Standard Liege before moving to Antwerp.
He scored 29 goals in 140 games for the club, and played in both the Champions League and Europa League.
Balikwisha has been capped 10 times by Belgium's under 21's.
Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website: “I am delighted to welcome Michel-Ange to Celtic and I believe he will be a great addition to our squad.
“He is a really talented, exciting player and with a good level of experience at a high level already, so he will be an important player for us moving forward.
“He loves to attack and can play both sides of the pitch so we are sure he will give the team some great options.
“Having spoken to Michel-Ange I know he is very excited about joining Celtic and he wants to be a big success with us, so we look forward to working with him.”
Celtic are expected to make more additions before the transfer window closes on Monday 1 September.
