Celtic have completed the signing of Dundee captain Luke McCowan on a three-year deal.

The 26-year old comes in to further strengthen their midfielder after the club record purchase of Arne Engels on transfer deadline day.

McCowan started his career at Ayr United before making the move to Dundee in 2022.

He has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Dens Park side - scoring 28 goals.

After announcing the signing, Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website: "We are really happy to welcome Luke to Celtic.

"He is a player with great ability, energy and commitment and we are sure he will be a very positive addition to our squad."

Hibernian had several bids rejected for McCowan during the summer window - with the Parkhead club swooping in on the final day to get the deal done.

Brendan Rodgers also finalised a deal for American defender Auston Trusty.

Trusty joined from Sheffield United for a fee of ÂŁ6m.
