Celtic winger Mikey Johnston has sealed a permanent move to West Brom for a reported fee of £3million.

The 25-year old came through the youth academy at Parkhead and made his first team debut in a 4-1 win over St Johnstone in May 2017.

Johnston was unable to hold down a permanent spot but still went on to make almost 100 appearances for the Hoops.

A loan spell in Portugal with Vitória Guimarães was followed by a stint at the Baggies last season where he made a big impact in the English Championship.

That was enough for the West Midlands club to make their move and bring the former Scotland youth international back permanently.

The Parkhead side confirmed the deal, posting on X: "Mikey Johnston has left #CelticFC to join West Bromwich Albion on a permanent transfer.

"Best of luck and thank you, Mikey!".

Johnston told the West Bromwich Albion club website: I’m really happy to be here.

"Driving down the M6 last night I couldn’t stop smiling and I’m buzzing to be here.

"From day one here I got off to a really good start, the fans took to me, and I took to them right away. I felt the love the full time I was here last year and I’m just buzzing to be back."
