Two men arrested following drugs busts in Glasgow and Livingston

Cannabis, with an estimated street value of up to £850,000, has been recovered by officers in Glasgow and Livingston.
Around 7am on Thursday, 21 September, 2023, officers executed a warrant at a premises at Albion Industrial Estate in Glasgow, and a large-scale cannabis cultivation was discovered. The cannabis, with an estimated street value between £80,000 and £250,000, was seized.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff court today (Friday, 22 September).
The second recovery took place in the Muir Place area of Livingston around 9.30am on Thursday, 21 September, 2023, where a large quantity of cannabis plants, with an estimated street value between £500,000 and £600,000, were seized.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today.
Detective Inspector Alan Ferguson said: “These incidents are not linked. They are significant recoveries, and they underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
“We will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to prevent the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in our local communities.
