Body of man pulled from water in Loch Fyne

Officers have confirmed the body of a 57-year-old man was recovered from the water in the Loch Fyne area on Monday morning.

Emergency crews had been looking for a missing kayaker since around 7.55 on Sunday night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55pm on Sunday, 1 September, a search and rescue operation was launched following a report of a missing kayaker in the Loch Fyne area.

“The body of a 57-year-old man was found around 7.30am on Monday, 2 September, 2024, on the banks of Loch Fyne around two miles South of Lochgair.

“His family are aware.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
