Emergency closure on Glasgow's Bath Street for 10 weeks
It's because of a damaged sewer which is flooding a property on the street

Bath Street in the heart of Glasgow City Centre will close for ten weeks for emergency roadworks.
Scottish Water says the work starting today (Monday 18 March 2024) is to repair a damaged sewer.
Bath Street is shut between Douglas Street and Pitt Street because a property has been experiencing internal sewer flooding.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We have been given emergency permission by Glasgow City Council to close Bath Street to allow the work to be carried out as quickly and safely as possible.
“We appreciate it is going to be inconvenient for people living in and travelling through the city centre, but this really is the only way we can carry out the repair safely.
“We will work with affected businesses and residents to minimise the impact of the emergency works and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
Work began this morning (Monday 18 March 2024) and is expected to take approximately 10 weeks to complete. The excavation is likely to be complicated due to the presence of other services.
Diversions are in place and road users are being urged to follow signs.
