Police are searching for "reckless" suspects

Police in Airdrie are appealing for CCTV footage after a firework was put through a window on Bonfire Night.

The incident happened on Mill Road at around 9pm.

There were no injuries, but the firework caused extensive damage to the property.

Detective Constable Martin Daly said: “Thankfully, no one was in the room at the time, but this reckless act had the potential to cause serious injury.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace whoever is responsible and I would ask anyone in the area at the time who saw anyone suspicious to get in touch.

“Similarly, anyone in the area with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which may have captured the incident is urged to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 4006 of 5 November.
