15-year-old boy appears in court accused of killing pensioner in Glasgow

A teenage boy has appeared in court today accused of killing a pensioner.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly assaulted the 70-year-old in Glasgow's Victoria Road on April 12 2023.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area had been taped off whilst investigations were carried out.

Locals reported a heavy police presence in the area on the morning of April 13 2023.

The boy appeared at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.

He made no plea to the charge of culpable homicide and was committed for further examination.

The boy was remanded in custody meantime by Sheriff Barry Divers.

The boy will appear at court again within the next eight days.
