Wrestling returns to Clacton

Wrestling is returning to Clacton today (3 June).
The superstars of LDN Wrestling are set to rumble through Princes Theatre as part of their 2021 nationwide tour.
A night of high-impact action is said to be "guaranteed" at the event, which is back by popular demand.
It will feature some of the country's top grapplers, including LDN British Champion Alan Lee Travis and the mysterious Dark Lord.
This is the first national touring show to return to the Princes Theatre after the breakout of COVID-19, while the theatre hosted earlier this month a Princes Youth Theatre production of DNA.
The wrestling show will see LDN British Champion Alan Lee Travis defend his title against New Zealand superstar JK Mooody in the main event.
Travis said:
"It’s great to bring British wrestling back to the area, I visited earlier this month and what a great British town it is.
"Can’t wait for LDN to rock."
Meanwhile the Dark Lord added:
"I've wrestled all around the world and came to LDN because I've heard this is where the real competition is.
"Forget about beating me; there's nobody who can even last five minutes in the ring with me and it's going to be no different in Clacton.
"If my opponent has any brains, they won't even turn up..."
The event will also feature high-flying Sid Manelli, the Hooligan Roy Knight and more.
Alex Porter, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism at Tendring District Council – which runs the Princes Theatre – said the event was a firm favourite with theatre-goers:
"LDN Wrestling is always a crowd-pleaser, and we’re excited to have them back for another rumble in the Princes Theatre."
Tickets are on sale from the Princes Theatre online, by calling 01255 68 66 33 (Option 1), or visiting the Box Office at Clacton Town Hall between 10am and 1pm Monday to Wednesday.
The show starts at 7.30pm and will run for approximately two hours, with the opportunity for a meet and greet with the wrestlers after the show.
Tickets cost £14/£12 (concessions).
