World's youngest DJ plays Glastonbury festival
Archie, a talented young DJ, is set to make history as the world's youngest DJ to perform at the renowned Glastonbury Festival. At just Nine years old!
Archie officially became the world's youngest DJ, when he was four - although he started his DJing journey at the tender age of two. The prodigious talent was discovered when his father, John Norbury, a DJ himself, noticed Archie's keen interest in music. One day, Archie turned on his father's DJ equipment and began mixing tracks, showcasing his natural affinity for beats and rhythm.
Fast forward to the present day, and Archie finds himself gracing the stages of Glastonbury. In just five short years, he has progressed from tinkering with his father's controllers to performing at one of the world's most iconic music festivals.
Archie's passion for music became evident from a very early age. Even as a baby, he responded eagerly to melodies and displayed an impressive sense of rhythm. His father recalls a memorable moment in Dubai when Archie, still a toddler, started dancing along to the music playing on TV. The connection between Archie and music was undeniable, and it set the stage for his remarkable career.
As Archie prepares for his Glastonbury debut, he reveals his enthusiasm for the energetic beats and exhilarating drops that captivate audiences. The young DJ is thrilled by the reactions he receives when his mixes come together seamlessly, causing people to dance and lose themselves in the music.
Archie said:
"I like the beats and the drop because the drop. I just got mad and then I get people like just dancing and lot and yeah, and then for the beats, I just like how quick it goes. Cause I like quick stuff."
Nerves do creep in before his performances though...
"I like seeing people's reactions when I like through a really good job. But when I first DJ, I'll get a bit nervous. So that's why I'm not doing that good, like, moving around. Well at the beginning. then I'll settle into it".
The Glastonbury experience promises to be a milestone for both Archie and his father, who proudly supports his son's journey. For John, witnessing his son's growth as an artist and being able to share this remarkable moment at Glastonbury is a dream come true. They have even managed to bring their own speakers to enhance their performance, despite the requirement for a permit.
Beyond Glastonbury, Archie has a bright future ahead. His dad John said:
"I mean we need to do something in America, right? I mean, we we've got, we've got a really busy August. We we're gonna be at Boomtown this year and we we're playing, we're playing at playing at a festival in Germany as well, aren't we? We're going out going out there. So yeah, we've got a few bits and pieces to do but I think the dream would be to do one of the big festivals in America something like EDC "
In addition to his passion for music, Archie and his father are actively involved in charitable endeavors. They recently lent their support to the Cash for Kids initiative, where DJs participated in a 24-hour dance marathon to raise funds for underprivileged children.
"We were invited into the KISS Radio Studio to help Tyler W. He was doing the 24-hour dance for cash for kids, so there was lots of DJs that were invited over that 24 hours to play music for him so he could keep dancing, you know, to raise money for underprivileged children."
As the rain drizzles down at Glastonbury, Archie remains undeterred, equipped with all the essentials for a memorable festival experience. With an air fryer to keep their energy up to white fluffy towels - Archie and his dad they are fully prepared.
He's playing an hour long dance set from 9pm until 10pm on the hive stage which Archie says is: "The best time".
