A woman has suffered serious injuries after what police have described as a "serious collision" on the A120.

Essex Police officers are currently at the scene.

The crash happened just before 3.20pm today (26 March), between Takeley and Dunmow.

A woman from Bishop's Stortford, whose black BMW is believed to have been stationary on the carriageway, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a white Transit van, a man in his 20s from Colchester, is said to be assisting with police enquiries.

One lane remains closed on the A120, but most of the road has now reopened.

Officers are advising drivers where possible and are asking people to check their journeys before travelling.

Anyone with information about the collision, or who has dashcam of the incident, is asked to call 101 and quote incident 698 of 26 March.
