Woman named after fatal collision in South Woodham Ferrers

Janet Susan Finch was "a kind person who lived her life selflessly, putting the needs of others before her own."

A woman who died in a tragic collision in South Woodham Ferrers earlier this month has been named, as Janet Susan Finch.

Janet Finch was driving on Burnham Road on 13 August when a lorry hit her car.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics she died at the scene.

Her family have called her "a truly remarkable, strong, independent soul" who "put the needs of others before her own. "

“She was a loving caring partner, a solid, inspirational mother and gentle nurturing grandmother."

The driver of the lorry was arrested and has been released under investigation.

Essex police continue to investigate the incident.

They continue to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any dashcam footage to contact them on 101, citing incident 842 of 13th August.
