Woman knocked to the ground after collision with car in Colchester

Essex Police is appealing for witnesses

A school crossing patrol officer has been knocked to the ground after a collision with a car in Colchester.

It happened between 3pm and 3.15pm on Wednesday (14 April).

The woman, aged in her 20s, was on a zebra crossing at Brinkley Lane, junction with Derwent Road, Highwoods, when she was involved in a collision with a small black car.

She was knocked to the ground and suffered bruising.

The male driver of the car stopped the car initially, before driving off towards Severals Lane.

The woman was wearing high-viz clothing at the time.

Witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact the Road Crime Support Team on 101 extension 421075.
