Woman in critical condition after incident in Harwich
A man has been arrested and since been released on bail as police enquiries continue
A woman is in a critical condition after an incident in Harwich.
Essex Police were called to Norway Crescent at around 8:45pm on Monday night (20 February) following a call from the ambulance service about a woman in cardiac arrest.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance were in attendance and the woman was taken to hospital.
She remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Officers say an investigation to establish the circumstance that led to her hospitalisation has been launched and remains ongoing.
Detective Inspector Kev Hughes from Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said “We are continuing to investigate how this woman has ended up in hospital.
“A man has been arrested in connection with this investigation and since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
“I appreciate that the emergency services presence caused concern amongst residents and that are comments on social media around this incident.
“I can assure the public that this was an isolated incident, and we ask you not to speculate.”
