A woman's been charged with murder following the death of a man in Harlow at the weekend.

Police were called to Ryecroft at around 2.20am on Saturday 12th February, to reports a man in his 50s was injured.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics he later died.

Rebecca Searing, who's 51 and from Ryecroft, was arrested and has now been charged with murder.

She's due to appear at Colchester Magistrate's Court on Monday 14th February.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Clarkson, who’s leading the investigation, said: “I know this will be concerning to people living in the Ryecroft area, but I don’t believe this incident poses a risk to the wider public.

“We’re not looking for anyone else in connection with it.

“A team of specialist detectives and staff are working to establish what led up to this man’s death and are making good progress.

“There’s likely to be a police presence at the scene today as we continue our enquiries.

“I need anyone who heard or saw anything, has any CCTV or doorbell footage, or has any other information to contact us.”
