Woman knocked unconscious during assault and robbery in Southend

Her purse was stolen after she was assaulted

Essex Police are appealing for information and footage after a woman was assaulted and robbed in Southend over the weekend.

The woman, in her 50s, was sat outside Greggs on the High Street on Saturday night (November 11) at around 11:10pm.

Another woman approached her, assaulted the victim and knocked her unconscious, before her purse was stolen.

The suspect has been described as white, 5ft 7ins, in her late thirties with brown hair in a bun.

Police say she was wearing a purple jacket with black squares on the shoulders, as well as black trousers.
