The family of a man killed after being attacked in a pub in Westcliff on Friday 23rd December, say their ‘hearts are broken’.

Dave Peck, 51, was attacked inside the Lamb and Lion in Station Road at around 6.40pm. He died later on.

In a statement his family said:

“Our hearts are broken. Dave is and always will be a much loved partner, father, son and brother.

“He has been taken from his family and friends far too soon.

“While we try to come to terms with our sudden and devastating loss, we as the family ask for privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Forty-four year-old Alfred Turner, of Station Road, Westcliff has been charged with Mr Peck's murder as well as possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Essex Police have appealed for any information, CCTV or dashcam footage relating to the incident.
