Essex Police have published an e-fit photo of a man they'd like to speak to as part of a serious assault investigation in Westcliff.
Officers say a man in his 20s was found with serious injuries in Valkyrie Road shortly after midnight on Friday night/Saturday morning (30th October).
He remains in hospital, although his condition is no longer considered life-threatening.
A 31 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Sunday but has now been released without charge.
Detective Inspector Kev Hughes, who’s leading the investigation, said: “We are continuing to support the victim and their family and a team of detectives is working hard to identify his attacker.
“Through our investigation we have gathered a significant amount of CCTV from the area and are now trying to identify those pictured, including eliminating people
“So I need anyone who was in Valkyrie Road, specifically in the area of the junctions with Brittania Road, Station Road, and Westcliff railway station, particularly walking between the Lamb and Lion pub to the station, between 11.30pm and 12.30am to contact us.
“We also still need anyone who saw anything or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.
“We continue to believe this was a targeted attack and there’s no wider risk to the public from this incident.”
