A large pipe burst has left Harwich, Walton-on-the-Naze and Frinton-on-Sea with a serious disruption to the water supply.

The areas affected are covered by the following postcodes: CO12, CO13, CO14, CO16

Affinity Water released a statement saying, "We're really sorry that customers in postcodes CO12, CO13, CO14 & CO16 may be experiencing no water or low pressure.

"We've now started the repairs to the damaged pipe and we're adjusting our network to begin to restore customers' water supply. Customers in flats or those who have a shared water supply are more likely to be affected by lower pressure."

They have also asked locals in the affected regions to avoid using:

  • Washing Machine
  • Diswasher
  • Electrical appliances that use water

Anyone still with access to water, is advised to put some in your kettle or fridge for drinking in case your water needs switching off for the repair.
