The large coronavirus vaccination centre at Clacton Hospital will open today (11 February), the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) has confirmed.

It has been shut all week due to the weather conditions brought by Storm Darcy, but the yellow weather warning for snow and ice, in place until 11am, is not expected to cause issues.

EPUT's other large centres which were closed in Essex and Suffolk have now reopened, but the site at Colchester's Community Stadium will remain closed until tomorrow.

People who have missed their appointments this week are asked not to worry as additional slots will be made available for re-bookings, which can be made via the NHS national booking website or by calling 119.

Anyone attending an appointment over the coming days is asked to plan their journey carefully and wrap up warm.
