Two questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after teenager seriously injured in Southend

Arrests were made in Southend and Westcliff this morning

Two men are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was seriously injured in Southend earlier this month.

Police arrested two men in their 30s in Westcliff and Southend.

Another man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of a knife or blade - he's since been released under investigation.

It comes after police were called to York Road shortly before 4:25am on October 11, finding a teenage boy with serious injuries. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A second teenager was taken to hospital with injuries to his legs.

A number of people have already been questioned and charged in connection with what happened.

18-year-old Nicholas Manueno, of Cranberry Lane, London E16 – has been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, aggravated burglary, and common assault.

27-year-old Constantin Ozansoy, of Chingford Road, Walthamstow – has already been charged with aggravated burglary and common assault.

Both are due in court next month.

Two other men arrested – a 26-year-old on suspicion of aggravated burglary and a 29- year-old on suspicion of GBH with intent and aggravated burglary – have both been released on bail.

Police are still appealing for witnesses in connection with what happened.
