Two people taken to hospital after assaults in Colchester

Two 23 year-old men from Colchester have been arrested on suspicion of ABH

Two people have been taken to hospital, after two assaults in Colchester this morning (10 June).

In the first, Essex Police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in Queen Street just before 3am.

They found a man who had been assaulted.

He suffered injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, but was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers also received reports of an assault shortly before 3.40am in Red Lion Walk.

They found a woman who had sustained facial injuries.

She too was taken to hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Two men, both aged 23 and from Colchester, have been arrested on suspicion of ABH.

They remain in custody for questioning.

At this stage, Essex Police are linking the two incidents, and are appealing for witnesses to both assaults and for information on what happened in the lead up to the incidents.
