Two brothers have been charged with attempted murder after a teenager was seriously injured in Southend earlier this year.

Police were called to York Road on October 11, also finding a second teen with injuries to his leg.

The first teenager remains in hospital but his condition has since been improved.

31 year old Aurel Ukcenaj of Marischal Road, London and 26 year old Xheni Ukcenaj of Chase Side, Enfield are the tenth and eleventh people to be arrested in connection with the incident.

Xheni is also accused of cannabis cultivation.

Both men have been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Basildon Crown Court on December 23.

DI Lydia George, of Essex Police, said: “In the eight weeks since this incident took place, the investigation team has worked tirelessly to piece together the circumstances which left a teenage boy in a critical condition and an 18-year-old man with a serious leg injury.

“To date, this has resulted in eleven arrests and five people having charges secured against them.

“But our investigation is not stopping here – we continue to identify people we would like to speak to in connection with the incident and we will leave no stone unturned as we seek justice.”
