Two charged after man shot in the leg in Waltham Abbey
His injury was treated as life-threatening but thankfully, he has been recovering
Two people have been charged in connection with a shooting in Waltham Abbey.
Officers were called to Howard Close shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday 24 November 2024 where they found a man who'd been shot in the leg.
He was taken to hospital for treatment. Initially, his injury was treated as life-threatening. Thankfully, he has been recovering from the injury.
The investigation, led by officers from the serious and organised crime unit, led to two people being arrested.
They have now been charged.
Amir Mahamud, 26, of Garfield Road, Enfield, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm and being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 19 February.
Margit Knap, 41, of Howard Close in Waltham Abbey, was charged with assisting in the commission of an offence or believing one will be committed, aiding and abetting or procuring attempted murder.
She appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was released on conditional bail.
A third person, 30-year-old Hamidreza Nasiri, of Holbrook Close, Enfield, is already charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
His case is progressing through the court system.
