Tributes paid to teenager by family
Four people have been bailed until 27 December.
Members of the family of a Grays teenager who died have paid tribute to him.
Essex Police officers were called to an incident at an address close to New Road, Grays, at around 4am on Friday 6 October.
Despite the efforts of medics, 19-year-old Ashton Rowbotham sadly died at the scene.
Ashton’s parents said:
“Our heart is breaking. You are loved so much. You will always be with us.”
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder on 6 October. A second 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary on 7 October. A 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary on 8 October.
All four have been bailed until 27 December.
Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood said:
“As our investigation into Ashton’s death continues we would like to reiterate that we believe this is an isolated incident, and appreciate this will be a challenging time for the community in Grays.
“I would continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward to officers who are supporting the community with high-visibility patrols today and speak to us.”
