Tiptree man charged with attempted murder
A man in his fifties is in a critical condition in hospital
A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an assault in Maypole Road, Tiptree.
The incident happened on Tuesday 11 July at about 3.20pm.
Shortly after, a man in his 50s was taken to hospital with stab wounds where he remains in a critical condition.
Another man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder the same day. John Garrett, 54, of Elm Close, Tiptree, has now been charged with attempted murder and robbery and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today.
A 59-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
