Three men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Colchester at the weekend.

The two victims were driving down Sir Isaacs Road at around 6:50pm on Saturday (October 22).

They heard their vehicle being hit and got out to confront three men nearby.

Both men were then assaulted, one suffering a black eye, the other a dislocated arm.

Two suspected aged 29 and 56 are still being questioned on suspicion of GBH and ABH.

A 43 year old man has been released under investigation after being questioned on suspicion of GBH and ABH.

Detective Sergeant Richard Vince, of Essex Police, said:

“It was a busy time and there would have been lots of people around the general area and who may have witnessed the assault. We’d like them to come forward and speak to us.

“It was a shocking attack and the victims were both taken to hospital.

“Our enquiries will continue, but if you have any information in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.”
