Third charge after gun shots fired in Billericay
Two vehicles were fired at back in April
Detectives investigating an incident where two vehicles were shot at in Billericay have secured a third charge.
It's after an incident in Gardiners Lane North at about 12.30am on 18 April.
During that, a car was struck by a bullet after reports of a gunshot. Thankfully, there were no injuries as a result.
Police were subsequently made aware of a similar incident six hours earlier, on 17 April, when a white van was struck in Nevendon Road, in Wickford. Again, thankfully there was no injuries sustained.
As part of the investigation a number of people were identified, arrested and questioned.
Two other men have already been charged in connection with the incident.
Donny Archer, 26, of Kelvedon Road, Tiptree, and 20 year-old Nelson Buckland, of Risebridge Chase, Romford have both been charged with attempted wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They are both next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 26 May.
Now, nineteen year-old Johnny Smith, of Oak Road, Crays Hill, has been charged with attempted GBH with intent, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.
He appeared at Basildon Crown Court today (Friday 16 May) and has been remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 13 June.
