Colchester welcomed the King and Queen Consort today to celebrate it's recent city status.
As well as visiting the Castle and the local library - they've unveiled the name for Colchester Zoo's baby white rhino, Dara
Hundreds of people were lined up on the streets to try and get a glimpse of the King and Queen.
Although the majority of people were excited to see the royals there were some of those there protesting.
The King and Queen arrived at the Colchester Library at 1:00 pm. They shook hands with the staff members before the King went upstairs for afternoon tea with volunteers and staff from Age UK and Silver Linings.
The Queen stayed downstairs listening to a talk, a poetry reading from Marie Earl winner of writing competitions who will read her winning entry to her majesty and Year 6 student Fatima Jallow read a passage from Alice in wonderland. After which she received a copy of the book.

After the speeches and readings, the Queen spoke to staff members and Dermot O'Leary.
They spoke about the work they were doing.
The King was upstairs, before entering a room for afternoon tea, he was greeted by Essex Youth Orchestra who played throughout the afternoon.

After tea, Camilla joined the King to cut a cake before leaving. Everyone then re-accounted their interactions with the royals.
