Four teenagers arrested after two people stabbed in Basildon

Four teenagers have been arrested following an incident in Basildon town centre.
Police received reports shortly after 3pm on Tuesday (4 October) of two people having sustained stab wounds in the St Martins Square area.
Officers responded swiftly and carried out a search of the area resulting in the quick arrest of four teenagers.
A 14 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of a knife or bladed article.
A 13 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, ABH, and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 17 year-old boy from Leigh-on-Sea was arrested on suspicion of GBH without intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
And a 16 year-old boy from Southend was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
All four has since been released on bail until 27 October.
Additional high visibility patrols are taking place in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
