Teenager dies in Essex motorbike crash

A teenager has died following a collision near Braintree.

Police were called to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a Freelander car in High Garrett shortly after 7.50pm yesterday (18 December).

Officers and ambulance staff attended but, sadly, the rider of a motorbike – a 19 year-old man – died at the scene.

Detective Inspector Mark Fraser, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I want to express my condolences to the family of the man who has died at this unimaginably painful time.

We are investigating the circumstances which led up to the collision and need anyone who saw what happened, or has CCTV or dash cam footage to contact us.”
